Health Concerns for the event on July 25th.

posted in Blog Post |

Many people have expressed concern over the tidiness of the Dog Park. I share these concerns but I want to assure everyone that our hounds will be safe. We will be on the small dog side which is always a lot cleaner. Plus, I will be getting there at least an hour early to make sure the grounds are up to snuff. If there aren’t, I will do the cleanup myself.  Onondaga Parks is also going to make sure that the grounds are spick and span before they close the night before.  Again, as a precaution, its always good to make sure your hound is up to date on all their shots and preventatives (flea, tick, heartworm, worms). That’s just good common sense even if they weren’t attending a dog park event.

I really appreciate the feedback. Please continue to email with any questions and remember to post a comment in the event page if you plan on coming. Lets get a big turnout! This is going to be alot of fun!

You all sound like such snobs with your noses in the air. The dog park is to dirty for our precious hounds. I love all dogs and I am a huge proponent of adoption but greyhound owners (not all) seem so snooty.

    Carl,
This is your opinion. I think all dog owners place some degree of importance on their particular breed. Why shouldnt they? If you have a beagle, you probably got a beagle because you feel they are the greatest dog ever, right? Well, I think its the same for Greyhound owners. We feel a special bond with them and want to keep them as safe as possible. I don’t think the Dog Park is that bad, but I have to respect those people who do and try to be accomadating. Thats just being courteous.

Hmmm, I hardly think being concerned about cleanliness at a public facility to be “snooty”… to me, that’s part of being a responsible dog owner.

Thanks Glenn for all your hard work!
