That was a long and cold winter, wasn’t it? Well, the good news is The Greyhound Walking Club of Central New York is back and ready to do some walking! Before I give the info on our first walk I have a few announcements.
First, we have a new link on the right hand side of the website under the photo of the day. Its a link that you can click on to support the TGWC. As we discussed at the end of last year, there are costs associated with running this club. Even though its not super-high, it is significant. Obviously donating is totally optional but it would be much appreciated. Every little bit helps! With these donations, it will help defray some of the costs associated with website hosting, domain names, special events, etc.
Some of you emailed me disappointed last year after I had to cancel the podcast/live show. I am planning on trying it again this year so look for it soon. I think something like this would be a really fun thing for all of us to take part in. Please email me any suggestions you might have for the show.
Finally, the last announcement. Many of you have still not sent in any pictures of your hounds. Its VERY EASY to do. Just click on the link at the top of the page that says SUBMIT YOUR PICTURES and follow the instructions. We as Greyhound owners love to show off our dogs. Well, this is the perfect forum for it. Submit those pictures today!
Finally, Spread the word about our club. I would love too see if grow even bigger this year!
The Greyhound Walking Club of Central New York would like to announce its first greyhound walk of 2011.
Here is the info you will need:

Onondaga Lake Park West Shore Trail
For those new to the walks, please review the FAQ page on the site. Below I have included a map of the Park and have marked(in red) the parking lot we will meet at. The entire Trail in a loop is about 4 miles but don’t feel you have to walk that far. We understand some people simply don’t care for the longer walks. We will let you know beforehand of some shorter loops that you can take. If it does prove to be a bad weather on the 1st(thunderstorms, heavy rain, extreme cold), I will post something on the site 1 hour before the walk indicating we will cancel the walk and reschedule. Hopefully this will not happen.

If you need assistance with specfic directions or don’t understand something in the map, feel free to email me at glenn@thegreyhoundwalkingclub.com .
If you are planning on attending, please post a comment below. It would be nice to know roughly how many people are coming. I plan on having refreshments at the end.
See all of you in a month!
